Motivated by the success of the growing range of V.Smile devices, VTech released the Pro System in 2007. The V.Smile Pro is not compatible to the previous V.Smile Systems and cartridges. Instead, it uses CD-technology. The CDs are sold in caddies due the low age of the typical customers of VTech. The Pro-System focuses on kids from 6 and up while the previous V.Smiles were recommended from 3 years and up. Better technology enabled the Pro-System to display 3D-graphics roughly on 32-Bit level. However, the Pro-System was not as successful as the previous V.Smile-systems.
