The PSX is a landmark release for Sony. With it's first videogame system, Sony grabbed Nintendos crown and not only established themselves as the market leader from the start, but took the whole industry quantumleaps forward. Videogames weren't seen as childsplay anymore, it suddenly was a normal hobby for twens and thirds, with games created for a more mature audience, a revolutionary CD-Rom drive and a focus on 3D graphics.
