Description

After the success of the Gamepark 32 which was achieved through it's homebrew focus, the teams of ist manufacturer Game Park split up, founding the new company GamePark Holdings, which released the GP2X in 2005. The name "GPX2" was not available due to legal issues. The focus of the GP2X was again private developers and emulators, with only a few commercial releases. The GP2X saw some revisions with minor upgrades and improvement, with the first edition F100 being shown here. Through its 200 Mhz ARM920T processor, the Linux-based system was able to emulate many retro-consoles quite well. The GP2X saw a successor in 2009 called the GP2X Wiz.
