The incredible success of the DS was pushed by Nintendo with regular hardware update. The DS Lite was the first revision after the original DS, and was bringing a better, brighter, sharper screen, better colours, an improved battery, a more compact housing and more. Further updates were released with the DSi and the DSi XL.
