The Compactvision by Gakken is quite an obscure system from 1983. Gakken had made some good experience with handheld LCD games, and thus decided to develop this cartridge-based console. Only 6 games were released. The controller is part of the console itself, which is a very strange development. By that, it is limited to right-handed players and does offer only single player games, which was quite unusual at the time of its release. The failure of the system was finally sealed by the release of Nintendos Famicom.
