Whatever the 3DS does, the 3DS XL does better - except mobility, maybe. An improved, bigger screen with even better 3D as well as an improved battery (6,5 hours instead of 5 hours) were sales points. Within it's lifetime, many color versions were released as well as special designs based on popular franchises.
