It is quite uncommon that the paths of PCs and console gaming are crossed. The Amstrad Mega PC with a built in Mega Drive is one example. Another one is Creatives 3DO Blaster, another add-on card for the PC. NECs PC-FX Gaming Accellerator follows the same principle and enables a PC of the Japan only PC-9800 series (also manufactured by NEC) to become a fully compatible gaming system with this add-on card, the driver and the joypad. Never released out of Japan, this system was still quite successful over there.
