6 years after the original Intellivision, and after Mattel gave up not only their plans for a "real" Intellivision 3, but also terminated their hardware department, a follow-up company named "INTV Corporation" wanted to have it's piece from the videogame pie. It released the INTV III in the original Intellivision housing, but with a different color scheme (black instead of brown) and with some technical improvements, which survived with 21 additional games until 1990.
